Voici notre semaine grecque ! Sur l'article du début de semaine dernière, Denisa nous a suggesté de manger l'Océanie et nous avons tiré Niue. Nous mangerons ce pays la semaine prochaine. Continuez à nous proposer des continents dans les commentaires :)


Nous avons remplacé les yaourts grecs par du yaourt au lait de coco.



Nous avons remplacé les steaks hachés par du hâchis de tofu, le tatziki était déjà prêt grâce à la recette précédent, nous n’avons pas ajouté l’oeuf.

Tzatziki

Preparation Time : 15 minutes

For 4 people

Ingredients :

Cucumber : 1

Coconut/soy/cashew/... milk yogurt : 2

Garlic : 1 clove

Olive oil : 2 tablespoons

Vinegar : 1 tablespoons

Mint

Pepper

Salt

Preparation :

Step 1

Peel and grate the cucumber then drain it in a strainer (you can salt the cucumber to make the water get out of it faster).

Step 2

In a bowl, put the yogurt, oil, vinegar, pepper and crushed garlic.

Step 3

Chop or cut the mint in tiny pieces and add it in the bowl.

Step 4

Strain the cucumber and add to the preparation. Salt if necessary and mix.

Step 5

Put in the fridge for 2 hours and serve.

Step 6

Eat alone, with bread or to accompany salads.

Pita bread

Total Time : 2 hour and 25 minutes

For 10 people

Ingredients :

White flour : 500 g

Baker’s yeast : 1 small bag

Salt : 1 pinch

Sugar : 1 pinch

Warm water : 25 cL

Preparation :

Step 1

Put the flour and the salt in a bowl. Mix the water, yeast and sugar then add the flour bowl. Knead. If the mix is too sticky, add a little of flour. If the mix is too dry, add a few drops of water.

Step 2

Form a ball of dough then put a clean fabric towel on the bowl and let it sit for 1 hour (if possible in a warm place).

Step 3

On a countertop, put a little of flour on so that it’s the pitas don’t stick then knead the dough during a long time, until it becomes flexible. Separate it in 10 equal parts then flatten each portion in small disks, a few millimeter thick.

Step 4

Heat up the pan without oil then cook each pita during 1 to 2 minutes on each side.

Step 5

Serve warm with stuffing of vegetables or tofu balls, as shown in the recipe below.

Pita filling

Preparation Time : 20 minutes

Cooking Time : 5 minutes

For 4 people

Ingredients :

Tofu ground : 500 g

Pita breads : 4

Onions : 2

Lettuce leaves : 2

Tomatoes : 1

Garlic : 1 clove

Bread : 1 slice

Chopped cilantro : 1 teaspoon

Parsley : 4 branches

Olive oil : 1 tablespoon

Salt and pepper

Tatziki

Preparation :

Step 1

Rinse the parsley and chop it. Peel the onions. Chop one and cut the other one in slices. Rinse and chop the lettuce. Rinse the tomato and cu it in slices.

Step 2

Wet the bread, drain it and mix it with the tofu ground, 1 chopped onion, parsley, cilantro, salt and pepper. For 8 flattened balls.

Step 3

In a pan, heat up the oil and cook the balls during 2 to 3 minutes on each side.

Step 4

Heat up the pitas, open them and put lettuce, tomato and some onion slices in. Add the balls and tzatziki.

Step 5

Serve right away.
