//Here are the next recipes of the week !
Kaalikääryleet (stuffed cabbage)
Preparation Time : 50 minutes
Cooking Time : 45 minutes
For 6 people
Ingredients :
Green cabbage : 1
Veggie ground : 1 pack
Long rice : 180 g
Onions : 2
Vegetable broth : 20 cL
Soy sauce
Dried cranberries : 125 g
(Chapelure) : 150 g
Margarine
Salt and pepper
Preparation :
Step 1
Remove around 12 pretty leaves from the cabbage. Cut the rest of it in 4 and cook it in a pot, in a lot of salty water during 20 minutes. Then, drain them and chop them.
Step 2
Dive the 12 whole leaves in the water for 10 minutes. Then, drain them.
Step 3
Cook the rice as written on the package. In my case, it was brown rice so about 45 minutes in boiling water, adding water each time there’s no more. But there’s a more proper way to cook it, you can find the info you need on the internet.
Step 4
Peel and chop the onions. Put them in a bowl, add the veggie ground, (chapelure), cranberries, salt and pepper. Mix them together.
Step 5
Add the rice and chopped cabbage (from step 1) and mix everything together.
Step 6
Preheat the oven on 400°F.
Step 7
Take a cabbage leaf in your hand and stuff with the bowl mix. Fold the edges on top to make a small package and put the stuffed cabbage in an oven-safe plate. Repeat this step until there’s no more leaves and mix.
Step 8
Pour a little soy sauce on the cabbages, add a nut of margarine and put in the oven until the cabbages turn brownish, so around 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 9
Then, pour the broth in the plate until half the height and continue the cooking for 40 minutes.
Step 10
Serve hot.
Strawberries pie
Ingredients :
Margarine : 60 g and 1 tablespoon
Sugar : 50 g and 3 tablespoons
Cornstarch : 2 tablespoons and 1,5 tablespoons
Vanilla extract : 1 teaspoon
Flour : 90 g
Baking powder : 1 teaspoon
Strawberries : 200 g
Preparation :
Step 1
Mix the melted 60 g of margarine with the 50 g of sugar, the 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, the vanilla extract, baking powder and flour. Knead to get a ball of dough.
Step 2
Put some margarine on the sides of a pie plate. Put 2/3 of the dough in the plate.
Step 3
Cut the strawberries in half and remove the stems. Mix them with the 1,5 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Place them on the dough.
Step 4
With the last third of the dough, make some thin stripes of dough and place them on top of the pie.
Step 5
Sprinkle a few nuts of margarine and some sugar on it before putting in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes on 355°F, until the dough gets golden.
